Benefits of Golden Milk
The leave are turning color and the weather is getting wetter. Theres change in the air.
I love the fall season. To me, it means warm spicy teas, cozy sweaters, days indoors to read or watch shows, the smell of delicious foods in the oven, visiting loved ones. But it also brings with it the possibility of catching a cold or flu. Lately, I have been drinking a ton of golden milk. This drink is basically an Ayurvedic cure all. And if you like a spiced chai like I do, you'll love it!
Here are some of the potential benefits of Golden Milk: 1. Helps Boost your Immunity 2. Relieves cough and cold 3. Remedy for digestive troubles 4. Cleanses the liver 5. Purifies the blood 6. Clarifies the skin 7. Relieves autoimmune diseases 8. Alleviates headaches 9. Reduces arthritic pain 10. Improves reproductive health in women 11. Helps fight cancer 12. Aids with sleep
There are a lot of recipes on line that I have found. Most have the same spices in them The recipe I use is as follows
Ingredients: A carton of almond unsweetened milk 1 heaping tablespoon full turmeric powder 3 slices of fresh ginger 2 sticks of cinnamon 3 whole cloves 1 tablespoon of raw honey 1/2 teaspoon of cracked black pepper
Add all the ingredients to a large sauce pain
Simmer for 10 minutes strain and serve Save the rest for the next few days or share with others Other recipes call for coconut milk which has a lot of health benefits. But I like the taste and consistency of almond milk.
I like drinking a cup daily. The spices really help to warm up my body in this cold weather.
