Herbal Medicine

Traditional herbal medicine is a major part of Eastern Medicine. It has been used for thousands in Asian countries where herbs are considered fundamental therapy for many acute and chronic conditions. In contrast, most pharmaceutical drugs have been used only in the last century.

One of the unique advantages in Traditional Eastern Medicine is that every patient has their own individualized treatment plan. This is the same with herbal therapies where each person's constitution will determine their their herbal prescriptions. However, if two people were to come to a western conventional doctor with the same symptoms, they would be given the same treatment. One of the basic tenets of Traditional Eastern Medicine is that each person has their own individual needs. The One Size Fits all approach does not apply in any part of our practice.

Since each individual has their own treatment plan, there are far less side effects when herbal medicine is taken. In most cases, patients who take herbal remedies do not experience any side effects.

Herbal medicine consists of the extracts of naturally occurring substances. Therefore they are extremely safe to take. Herbal remedies can be used for many conditions to bring the body back to optimal health.
